Purpose Statement:
Mobilize The American Legion Family, the veteran and military community, and the general population of the community to provide service to
benefit veterans, Military members and their families.
The concept of community service really encompasses everything that the Auxiliary does. So, each unit will need to decide how to separate what
they consider community service from other activities. But clearly, we all do a lot of community service. When reporting just be sure that you only
count those hours and money one time and in one area. Some may be reported in VA&R, community service, home service or field service.

Community Service Awards
- Department Award
- A citation will be presented to the Department Community Service Chairman in each Division with the most outstanding overall
promotion of the Community Service Program during the administrative year.
- Unit Award
- A citation will be presented to a Unit in each Division with the most outstanding overall promotion of the Community Service Program
during the administrative year.
